Official opening ceremony at the Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Lörrach
The Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Lörrach, which opened for business on 1 June, yesterday staged its official opening ceremony in the presence of numerous guests. Jörg Lutz, Mayor of Lörrach, was joined by further colleagues from the world of politics, business customers and representatives from owners Dr. K. H. Eberle Stiftung.
The Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Lörrach is operated by the RIMC Hotels & Resorts Group. Deutsche Hospitality is the franchisor for the brand Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts. Gert Prantner and Marek N. Riegger, Managing Partners at RIMC, used their opening address to stress the significance of the hotel for the town: “The whole team has worked hard in the past months. Therefore, we are all the more delighted that the hotel will enhance life in Lörrach. It will internationalise the town and attract guests from all over the world. This is particularly important given the proximity of Switzerland.” Mayor Jörg Lutz added: “The Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Lörrach has become a real landmark. Up until now, availability of hotel beds has been very limited. Fortunately, this situation has now changed. I am sure that the hotel will turn out to be a success story.”
The Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Lörrach is a four-star Superior Hotel located only a few kilometres away from Germany’s borders with France and Switzerland. It has enjoyed considerable popularity in the initial weeks following its soft opening, and several contracts have been signed with renowned business customers. This impression is reflected by the excellent feedback that can be found on the hotel’s own website. The local population has also exhibited a high degree of interest, and an Open Day has now been scheduled for 29 July when visitors will, for example, be able to explore the hotel by going on a special tour.
Puneet Chhatwal, CEO Deutsche Hospitality, expressed his own deep satisfaction at how development of the hotel had proceeded: “The Steigenberger Hotel Stadt Lörrach is enjoying great popularity because of its proximity to the Swiss metropolis of Basel and the EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg. We are sure that things will continue to move in a positive direction.”
