Luxury accommodation, first-class enjoyment and a crystal beer container as a stand-out feature – The Steigenberger Hotel München has opened its doors

The Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts brand launches in the Bavarian capital and invites its guests to experience modern-day Bavaria at first hand

The Steigenberger Hotel München opened for business yesterday, Thursday. It is the first hotel to operate under the Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts brand in the Bavarian capital and is located in the trendy district of Schwabing. General Manager Thomas Fischer was on hand to greet the very first guests, married couple Comploj from Bozen in South Tyrol. They cut through the symbolic red ribbon across the entrance and toasted a new era of hospitality in Munich with a glass of champagne. After this ceremonial moment, the guests were escorted to their suite, where they were presented with a framed piece of the ribbon as a souvenir of the special occasion.

As far as General Manager Thomas Fischer is concerned, the launch of the new Steigenberger Hotel München represents a return to his roots. Munich-born Mr. Fischer has spent considerable periods managing top hotels abroad, and is now all the more delighted to be back in Bavaria. “It truly is something special to be able to guide a new hotel here in my home city through the whole of its construction and opening phase. I completed my initial vocational education and training in the occupation of hotel specialist in Munich many years ago, and now I have the opportunity to lead a hotel which embodies the Bavarian lifestyle in such a wonderful way.”

The new Steigenberger Hotel München reflects modern Bavarian savoir vivre and also combines a trendy design with the charm that is so typical of the state. The centre pieces of the hotel are a 22-metre high foyer and a huge crystal beer container located in the bar, a walk-in oasis of coolness full of regional craft beers. Beer thus occupies a key role in the “Valentinum & Bar” restaurant area. Bavaria’s favourite drink is, in fact, presented in a number of highly original ways throughout the hotel. Guests can enjoy a huge selection of different beers from Bavaria and the world, savour special beer cocktails and try out beer pairing menus. Even the health and beauty spa facility has been designed to resemble a beer factory. The trendy Bavarian style is further reflected in the hotel’s 292 rooms and suites, some of which offer panoramic views stretching as far as the Alpine foothills.
