Our Mission

We believe it is our self-evident responsibility to consider the effects of our actions on the environment and climate, people and society. Our philosophy is also applied to our value chain – from the raw materials and products we use all the way to the travel behavior of our guests. To provide transparency on how we understand this responsibility, the measures we take to live up to it, and our objectives both within and outside the company, we have spelled out our strategy for corporate social responsibility in a “CSR Roadmap”.

Our Roadmap

On our journey into a more sustainable future, our Corporate Social Responsibility roadmap acts as a "guardrail" keeping us firmly on track. It clearly defines the stages of our journey. Short-, medium- and long-term targets enable us to assess our progress – and manage our Corporate Social Responsibility both from a business and economic perspective. This clear direction and consideration of the sustainability expectations of various stakeholders helps us to secure our market position, to minimize risks at an early stage, to put innovative ideas into practice, and consequently to foster the growth and internationalization of the company. We encourage our employees to become socially engaged, which in turn helps to make our activities more effective.

Whether you are a manager or a trainee – in our culture of togetherness, everyone can and should make an individual contribution to our common success. After all, our employees are the most important drivers behind our company’s sustainable activities. That’s why we as an employer attach particular importance to personal development, equal opportunities, health and mobility of each and every individual - so that we can continue to develop a corporate culture based on open-mindedness and reliability.

In order to positively impact our carbon footprint, we need to assume responsibility for how we use our natural resources. Through certifications, we ensure that our buildings, processes and workflows around the world adhere to high sustainability standards. We aim to make a major long-term contribution to our goal of climate neutrality through resource-friendly construction standards that extend to the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of our buildings.

We want to offer our guests services that are ever more sustainable. This will allow us to enhance our services locally while also improving our footprint on the climate and in society. Not only are we providing an impetus for more ecological travel - we are also looking more closely at how we do things ourselves: for example, by rethinking packaging and taking specific action to increase sustainability in the area of food and beverages.

We want to set new trends – and to have our suppliers join us on the journey toward greater sustainability. Whether it be through our purchasing policies – where we are placing more and more emphasis on regional, fairly traded and certified products – or through more sustainable supply chains or respect for human rights. We are always working to ensure that our high standards are put into practice and upheld – and we expect the same from our partners at a global level.

Social engagement has always been important to us, and this will become even more so in the future. Thanks to our presence at locations all over the world, we are able to and want to influence our social surroundings and help to shape life in the societies that we are part of. We build long-term partnerships and networks for this purpose. We also encourage our employees to become socially engaged, which further boosts the effectiveness of our activities.
